Another
Charitable Hospital has been established for the tribal people
and other disadvantaged sections. A very
beautiful account of how the tribal people of the area
have also been trained as medical assistants to help their
communities. Moreover, they are also employed by this charitable
hospital.
Recently the M.A.Math
under Amma's guidance has built homes for the mentally challenged
and recovering patients in Trivandrum. These patients usually
are abandoned by their family when they are discharged after
treatment from the mental hospitals.
The M.A.Math signed
a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sri Lankan Government
on 3rd May at the office of the Minister of Urban Development.
According to the agreement, 60 houses will be built in the
Sinhalese area of Kaluthurai (Colombo District) and 100 houses
will be built in the Tamil area of Thirukkovil (Ampara District).

Message
of peace
Excerpted from an address given
by Amma on the occasion of the Global Peace initiative of
Women Religious and Spiritual leaders, at Palais des Nations,
Geneve, on October 7th, 2002.
When Amma asked this youth what made him choose a life of
social work, he said, " My mother was the inspiration
behind this. My life was shattered. I was filled with hatred,
and all I wanted was revenge. But my mother changed my attitude."

About
Retreats with Amma
A Retreat with Amma gives us an opportunity to spend
some quality time with not only Amma but also with ourselves.
We get time to attend question and answer sessions with Amma,
meditation classes, bhajan classes, Spiritual talks by Amma's
senior disciples, plenty of darshan time with Amma and so
much more. If you have not registered yet for a retreat, now
is the best time to do it here
Gems
to treasure
Selfless service
Amma:
Meditation and studying the scriptures
are like two sides of a coin. The engraving on that coin is
selfless service, and that is what gives it its real value.
Our compassion and acts of selflessness take us to the deeper
truths. Through selfless action we can eradicate the ego that
conceals the Self. Detached, selfless action leads to liberation.
Such action is not just work; it is karma yoga.
An
opportunity to do Seva or Selfless-service
Amma is compared to a river of love, constantly flowing
out towards all.
She spends all of her time giving of herself to others.
It is only natural when
we sit in her presence, that, after some time,we begin to
wonder how we, too, can
serve.
If you would like to help out in whatever small way you
can, kindly take a moment and fill out this seva
form. It will help us understand your availability.
This is not a written agreement. It is only a means to
organize your skills and interest to help in the best
way possible.
