Amrita Karma Yoga ProgramAmma is an extraordinary spiritual leader who inspires innumerable humanitarian services. She has earned international recognition for her outstanding contributions to the world community. The M.A. Center, a residential ashram, is Amma’s main spiritual center in North America. It is located near San Ramon, California in a beautiful rural setting, surrounded by nature. Those whose hearts are moved to learn about and participate in “karma yoga” or selfless service are invited to join us at the ashram, doing spiritual practice while performing valuable service. We are now accepting applicants for our fall program, which will culminate
in November when Amma will travel to the M.A. Center to share “Only action performed with an attitude of selflessness can help you to go deeper into meditation. And real meditation will happen only when you have become truly selfless, because it is selflessness that removes thoughts and takes you deep into the silence.” - Amma Program Details Karma yogis are assigned one primary area of volunteer service and assist with priority needs. At the present time apprentices in carpentry and related work are needed. Other projects include preparing donated medical supplies to be sent to a charitable hospital in India, organic gardening, graphic arts & a number of other specialized areas (call or email for details).
