Amma to visit Sri Lanka

Amma
has accepted the invitation of the President of Sri Lanka, Mahendra
Rajapakshe, to visit Sri Lanka and hand over the keys to the houses
the M.A.Math built for the tsunami victims in that country.
The function will take place at the Presidential Palace place,
Temple Tree, Colombo on Friday, 23rd February 2007 at 4:15 pm.
A total of 96 houses have been built in two locations: in the Western
Provence in the Sinhalese district of Kalutara, and in the Eastern
Province, in the Tamil district of Ampara.
Each house measures 600 square feet and was built at a cost of
4 lakhs Indian Rupees. After the tsunami, Amma offered a total of
more than 3.5 crores Indian rupees
for the tsunami-rehabilitation work in Sri Lanka. That
offering is now coming to completion with the distribution
of the house keys on Friday.
Amma visited Sri Lanka in 2005, where she gave darshan in Tsunami-Relief
Camps and distributed thousands of shirts, dhotis and saris as well
as medicine to the disaster victims.
