Amma has dedicated Rs. 100 crores to the rehabilitation of the
tsunami affected - this was announced in a press conference in the
Ashram.
Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh to also benefit from the rehabilitation
scheme. Rs.1000 to be paid to each of the families who have been
affected by the tsunami in Kerala, for buying essentials. A sum
of Rs.1.5 crores set aside for this purpose.
The Ashram would be willing to adopt those children whose parents
have died in this calamity and take full responsibility for their
education and would also provide counseling to them.
The work on building temporary shelters for the evacuees being
vacated from the government-run camps has already started at the
Ashram property in Srayikkad.
International teams of Ashram volunteers continue to clean camp
sites. Food, essentials and medical aid are provided to evacuees
at the camps as usual.
Amma comes for the regular Ashram bhajans after a gap of seven
days. Visitors have started trickling into the Ashram, the daily
routine is restored.
Amma is planning to setup an advanced study center that can send
out warning signals of disasters such as tsunamis.

Under the auspices of the Math, many ashramites, devotees and AYUDH
members are in the forefront in helping and providing amenities
to the tsunami-affected. Their love for Amma takes myriad forms.
One devotee donated 58,000 packets of biscuits for the tsunami victims.
Others contributed utensils, clothes and other provisions.
A relief camp was set up at Nagapattinam in Pattinasseri, providing
food to about 10,000 people daily. Medical teams are also providing
medical aid. Under instructions from Amma, the volunteers help remove
dead bodies and clean the affected places.
