A tour of endless giving
Amma hugs thousands and thousands
as she tours India and also gives away homes, pensions, educational
scholarships and sewing machines to thousands of men, women and
children.
Here is a short report on Amma's tour of endless giving.
HOMES AND SEWING MACHINES IN JAIPUR, RAJASTHAN
March 8, 2008
Amma’s annual visit to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan,
was marked by the M.A.Math giving away keys
to 79
houses it constructed
for the homeless in Janapur. The M.A.Math will build and give away
1000 homes in Janapur. This is a project included in the Amritakuteeram
housing scheme of the M.A.Math. So far the Math has construted
30,000 homes all over India for the poor. M.A.Math is slowly working
towards its target of building 100,000 homes for the poor.
Sewing Machines were also given to several poor women in the area.
LIFETIME PENSIONS IN GUJARAT

As a part of the Lifetime pension program of the M.A.Math,
Amma gave away pensions to fifteen poor women. So far 100,000
pensions are being given by the Math to poor, handicapped and elderly
people.

FREE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARHIPS TO CHILDREN OF POOR FARMERS
IN WASHIM AND VIDHARBA

Vidharba and Washim in Maharashtra are some of the worst affected
places by the farmer suicide problem. When Amma visited these places
last month, she was received with great enthusiasm. Tens of thousands
of people waited all night till sunrise to get a moment's hug from
Amma.
Amma on behalf of the M.A.Math distributed several
educational schorships to the poor children of the farmers from Washim and
Vidharba regions. A total of 10,000 scholarhips will be granted
to the children of the Washim region alone.
FREE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO 5000 POOR CHILDREN IN
HYDERABAD

Free Educational scholarships were given to 5000
poor children from Hyderabad affected by the farmer suicide problem. About 1500
of those children got into the line to receive a hug from Amma.
Some of them came with their parents and some of them alone as
their parents had committed suicide.
FREE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS IN KANNUR AND KASARGOD

On February 2008, while touring southern India, Amma
on behalf of M.A.Math granted educational scholarships to 4000
children in
Kannur and Kasargod districts as a part of the Farmer Relief Project.
HOMES AND SEWING MACHINES IN PUDUCHERRY
January, 2008
Amma visited Puducherry in Southern India on January 2008. She
distributed ten sewing machines to poor women as a part of the
vocational training and employment opportunity program of the M.A.Math.
Further, the M.A.Math has launched a project to build homes for
the poor in Puducherry.
Amma on behalf of the M.A.Math offered immediate relief aid to
the victims of a terrible fire accident in a school in Kumbakonam
(a town in South India) on July 2004. During her recent tour to
this town, Amma on behalf of the M.A.Math handed keys to 10 out
of the 51 homes that the Math will be constructing for the fire
accident victims.
Sewing machines were also distributed to ten poor women from the
area, in order to help them earn a living.
Amma
hugged thousands and thousands of people who attended all these
programs. Her mission is to lovingly serve everyone. A simple message
that can be conveyed only through action - Amma's life is indeed
her message.
