May 18: Farming Update - Seedlings in the Greenhouse

Volunteers transplanting vegetable seedlings into the garden

Veggie seedlings in the greenhouseIn early April, the Farm team prepared trays of special mixed soil and planted various vegetable seeds. They have been lovingly tended over the past weeks, in a warm and moist environment inside our greenhouse. The seedlings have grown!

Previously, about eight beds of raised soil were made. This past Saturday, the Farm team transplanted tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, cabbage, beets and other seedlings. The remainder will be planted during the May long weekend, if the weather is fine. Thanks again to our small, dedicated Farming team who are working safely together. When the Covid situation hopefully changes, the Farm team will review again opportunities for others to participate. Questions? Contact ammatoronto@ammagroups.org
